The Underground 2 (Corbyn)
“Corbyn I really must hurry.” Taylee told him quickly as she set off down a twisting maze of passageways.
“Taylee, Stop, I will walk with you, please.” Corbyn grabbed her arm and she nearly jumped out of her skin, dropping all of her papers.
“Oh no, oh no.” She knelt on the ground and started picking up her things.
“I’m sorry Taylee; I know not to touch you. I’m sorry.” Corbyn bent to help her pick the items up and handed them to her.
Taylee had issues with being touched, and sleeping, she was an insomniac, the fear that someone might die while she could have been watching the screens and protecting them haunted her more than anything.
“Tay, I wanted to know if you’d come to dinner with Nevvia, Izak, and me.” Corbyn looked hopeful; his friend couldn’t keep herself closed off from the world. She only had four years left.
“I have surveillance duty tonight.” She told him, and started walking away again.
“Taylee, please, you have duty every night, and I can’t be alone with those two, who knows what’ll happen!” Corbyn pleaded with her.
Taylee smiled at him, he looked so pathetic. “Corbyn, you are so odd.”
“Is that a yes?” He asked reaching for the papers in her arms.
“It’s an observation, I have surveillance duty, and I just can’t.” And she turned from him and rushed down the dirt passageway.
Corbyn took a deep breath as she looked after he, he didn’t try to ask her again, he knew Taylee, she was his best friend, and she was so closed off, she would never live.
Corbyn turned slowly away and walked to the maintenance office in the underground, after all, he had a job to do. The underground can’t care for itself. Marco would be proud.
Marco was one of the beginners. One of the 10 kids that started the underground, that saved the world.
40 years ago all the Underground was used for was a play place, it had been an old condemned mining shaft, and the meeting place for a secret club, the leaders of theis clubs were ten kids who started to notice that the adults were acting weirder and weirder. As soon as someone turned 20 they would go all weird and start killing kids. The kids in the club started rounding up the kids all over the city starting with their school, then the elementary, and high schools in neighboring areas, until they had all they kids they could find. Even then they organized groups, run by one of the leaders to save more innocent lives. They then brought the “Hidden” to the Underground.
About six years later they stared getting radioed from New Jersey and they found that there were ‘undergrounds’ all around the U.S. and the world. Then after 10 years of almost complete isolation they created a connection, the walkie-line and they connected with kids from all over the world. Whenever on the line they speak in a secret language, incase of interception, and everyone can understand everyone else.
The underground has been connecting with the other undergrounds for about 30 years, digging tunnels, organized by the maintenance, to reach one another. And every tunnel found by the adults has to be blown closed and a new one created.
The underground has become a highly organized place in those forty years, every person has a job, they can marry, they have homes dug for them on their wedding day, all the same size, depending on the size the family grows the home grows along. And at 19 the persons are moved into special living quarters, incase the ‘crazy’ comes early, and at age 20 they are put to sleep for ever.
This whole underground world is run by 10 kids every time a leader goes to the chambers their apprentice will be age 12 and will take over for them, the other leaders helping them. The children start training at age eight depending on the abilities they seem to show. And they would run the underground, and hopefully keep it safe.

Hopefully. Haha, foreshadowing. Anyways, I like it.. and the last part is really nice because it explains everything. Yeah for explaining. Um, why doesn’t Tay want to be touched? Background story?
