The Underground 4 (AnnaSophia)

February 3, 2007 at 12:23 am (The Underground Chapters)

AnnaSophia, they never gave her the cute names they gave one another, like Tay or Cory, even Jordean had a nickname. But all they ever called her was AnnaSophia, maybe she preferred Anna, not that any of the other council members would ask, none of them care, none of them want to know her, none of them really care.
All they want is for her to be gone so they can boss around her successor.
And that little brat was going to run the underground to ruins. He never listened. All he did was say “I can do it better” and “My daddy told me…” She just wanted to scream at him, “I KNOW HOW TO RUN THE UNDERGROUND! Did you daddy ever run it? No? Well then that’s that isn’t it?”
But she was AnnaSophia to him too; she had to do what was expected of her, act how she was supposed to.
She had no one, no one in this godforsaken world she had months left before she would be put in the ’safe’ zone, and no one would care about it.
The leader of the council, leader of the underground, and the one person she loved the person who had ever said I love you to her; he had died.
When she was nine, Jonas was 10-years-old and he had told her “Little Sophie, I’m gonna marry you and we’re gonna have sixty kids, and I’m gonna end the war, and well live to be old” and he kissed her right on the lips. But the next day he died in a raiding party. Jonas never won the war, only her heart, and then he was gone.
“AnnaSophia?” A quiet voice asked from the doorway.
“Yes?” She asked not turning. She knew it was Davyd, the quietest, but most dangerous, one out of all of them, it could only be him.
“There is news from the front.” He told her his green eyes staring into her white/blue ones as she turned to faced him.
“Is it good or bad?” AnnaSophia asked scared for the answer.
“Good miss.” Davyd answered respectfully, the same cordial tone they all used with her. The exact same way they all acted toward her. She ground her teeth but recovered quickly with a smile at the news.
“What is it?” Anna asked, pulling her waist length braid over her shoulder to fiddle with it as he spoke.
“The adults are going to some sort of banquet and they are leaving their quarters mostly unmanned- they think we do not know the location. And if we can get in there were can destroy the source.” Davyd looked at her, not like the others did when they begged for something; he looked into her eyes, and she understood, this 16-year-old boy knew her.
He was not begging her, he was reading her, he was looking beyond her glasses, beyond her 5′3″ exterior, beyond all of her walls and he was breaking into her core. He was looking inside her soul and reading her like the old texts they use to educate the young children.
And she looked away. Her eyes squeezed closed she had to control her breathing, there had always been something different about him, but Davyd had juts read her. It, in all honesty, terrified her.
“We will call a council meeting immediately.” She told him her head facing the door, breath raged. She could feel his eyes on her, and he knew her, like Jonas knew her.
And in no way did she like it.

I’m proud of you… you have previous entries. :D Um, the story is good, but I’m confused as to what Davyd can read in her… and how old is she then? I got lost a little bit, but I really like the way that she acts like something but inside, she’s totally.. not that. Um, also, just curious… I can’t imagine falling in love when I’m nine, can’t she be older? Otherwise, I totally dig this story. :D
