Tempting Fate 2 (Attymps)
A window slowly creaked open, it was caked in dirt and grim from previous years, the paint sealing it had been cut with a pocket knife, and two boys help her push the window open.
“You are far too serious about dares.” Attymps told them in her usual dauntingly superior tone.
“Just finish it.” They replied and stood with their arms crossed.
“Well, do I get the pocket knife; you’re the ones who are convinced something deranged and criminal is in here.” She stated holding her palm out and as they placed it in her palm she pulled herself through the grimy window, and grimaced at the thought of her two hundred dollar jeans getting that dirty.
“We’ll be out side at sunrise.” They told her through the window and left.
“Whatever.” She mumbled turning on her blue flashlight. It was around eight in the evening, and the sun was already gone. “Stairs, stairs… where are the- there we go.”
Her flashlight fell across a set of winding, rickety, broken down looking stairs. She was supposed to climb those all the way to the top and spend the night in the attic. She let out a sigh and started out testing each stair before putting all of her slight weight on it.
The mansion she had just snuck into was supposedly haunted by the couple who had lived here nearly sixty years ago; they were murdered by their son, who then killed himself in the middle of town.
Frankly she didn’t believe a word of it. Attymps Atwater was not one to fall for such made up rubbish. Her mother raised her better than that; she wasn’t reared in the highest form of society to believe such ridiculous things.
So when the girl who was second most popular, and was expected to be her best friend because she was the most popular girl in school, dared her to spend the night in the old mansion or tell that dweeb Sam Whatshisface That he was cute, she chose option A, it was a lot less damaging to her person, and reputation.
And there she was climbing the stairs to the attic, where she was to spend the night, all because Alli, the second most popular girl, wants her out of the way.
When Attymps reached the top stair she heard something, or someone moving around. It grew even louder as she walked toward the attic stairs. The sound was like someone was dragging something acroos the floor, her first though was a dead body, but she pushed it away for the sheer obserdity. But none-the-less she held onto the pocket knife tighter. Her knuckles white with fear, Attymps started up the steps and slowly pushed open the trap door, her head poked up through it and what she saw made her scream.
A figure was crouched in the corner of the rom, adn the last rays if sunlight had turned in into not much more than a shadow, it was carving into something, again a bloody body crossed her mind, and at her scream the figure’s head shot up and their eyes connected.

I would scream too. Nasty rats, Sam probably looks sorta like them. And plus, those weird guys that wear ratty band t-shirts and have really, probably sexxy, curly red hair… I got lost. Distracted by the probably sexxy part. Apologies.
Um… for his birthday, he wants to go out bowling. Who wants to go bowling? (Secretly, ME!) And he works for his uncle… and last tuesday we stayed at my house watching movies until one in the morning with Nick and his brother Nigel. We watched a movie that I had to suck it up and not cry over. It was the saddest movie I have watched in a SUPER long time.
